Sophia Hancock provides strategic, operational, and programmatic support for various TPI clients. She works with independent and family foundations as well as companies to design, implement, and manage impactful philanthropic programs. Sophia brings passion about environmental justice, ending food insecurity, and access to quality education to her role.

Prior to joining TPI in early 2021, Sophia was the volunteer and administrative coordinator at Women’s Lunch Place in Boston. Before that, she participated in Americorps VISTA at Mill City Grows in Lowell, Massachusetts.

Sophia holds a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies with a minor in Creative Writing from Goucher College. While in college, she was a teaching assistant and was an environmental justice intern at the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection.

A Massachusetts native, Sophia now lives in Malden, Massachusetts, and enjoys reading as well as caring for her collection of plants, including the challenge of growing new and different types of plants.
