Boston, MA (May 21, 2015) – People who give to charitable causes can now access a free, interactive resource to help them understand more about how to maximize their philanthropy.

Adventures in Giving, www.givingadventures.org, is a unique online tool leading donors through a journey of simple questions to reflect on their giving, define their philanthropic goals, explore different approaches to giving, and learn about how to make giving more effective.

Donors receive a customized report to showcase possibilities for helping their philanthropy make an even greater impact in the ways most important to them.

“It’s very exciting to have three community foundations work together to create this fun, interactive tool to help donors think about their giving. We are thrilled to share it with other community foundations around the country,“ said Ellen Remmer, Interim Managing Partner at TPI.

Adventures in Giving was developed as a collaborative project by the Boston Foundation, Greater Kansas City Community Foundation, Community Foundation of Sarasota County, and The Philanthropic Initiative as a service to donors and philanthropic individuals. The free online tool is built upon the Donor Education Principles and Practices, developed by the Donor Effectiveness Network (DEN), a learning community of donor educators and advisors.

During its four year operation, DEN was generously supported by the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, which also provided funds for the development of Adventures in Giving.
