The Barowsky Scholars Business School Scholarship is for students from specific geographic areas who are studying full-time to obtain their MBA at the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.

The scholarship is funded by the Andrew P. Barowsky Foundation and administered by The Philanthropic Initiative (TPI).

The Award:

  • Two-year, renewable scholarship to cover tuition, fees, and educational expenses at the Ross School of Business at University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
  • Need and merit- based scholarship for students who are committed to building a better society.
  • One scholarship of $50,000 per year will be awarded and renewable for up to two years contingent on a GPA of 3.0 or higher and continued demonstration of financial need.

Eligibility Requirements:  

  • U.S. citizen
  • Current resident (high school graduate or resident for 15 or more years) from one of the following counties or state:
    • Florida: Indian River county
    • Maine: All counties
    • Massachusetts: Hampden county
  • Enrolling as a first-year student at the Ross School of Business at University of Michigan, Ann Arbor to pursue MBA degree full-time in 2026-2027.
  • A majority of courses must be taken in person.
  • Student must have unmet financial need.
  • Strong academic record.
  • Exhibits leadership qualities.
  • Motivated to make a difference in their community, profession, and in society overall.

SCHOLARSHIP TIMELINE

June 15th, 2026: Applications due by 5pm ET

July 2026: Scholarship recipients and amounts announced by the end of the month 

August 2026: Scholarships processed and sent to University of Michigan by the end of the month
